Happy Earth Month ~

Dear Fellow Democrat,

Have you noticed Spring is budding out all over? Dandelions bloom and spread within hours of mowing the lawn, the trees are full of new green of all hues, shapes and sizes, Spring storms with and without warnings pop up weekly, and every other form of life profligates... life is irrepressible. Nature just does not care how overwhelmingly cruel people are to each other. It can be inspiring for us to take a step back and look at the resilience of the Earth, and then renew our resolve to never give up.

There are so many opportunities to find that resolve and to put it into action. This Sunday, April 6th, from 2:00-4:00, RAD has the opportunity to gather and hike with Amy Martin as our guide and learn about the Connemara Meadow!  This is a Blackland Prairie just up the street from us in Plano/Allen area. Space is limited on the tour, so please register here for more details.

On Saturday, April 5th, RAD is joining Indivisible Dallas and 50501 for a Hands Off Rally downtown Dallas at Dealy Plaza. We will be meeting at the Arapaho Dart Rail station to take the 1:58 Red Line south to the West End Station and walk 5 minutes to Dealy Plaza. We'll join other peaceful protestors here and across the nation to send a message to musk & trump - Hands Off! If you have a RAD t-shirt, wear it! If you don't, you can purchase one here! We are also going to be making signs on Friday evening, at Urban Eatz, from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m., so come have some fun while we prepare to stand up for democracy! Click Here for all the details!

April 17th is RAD Happy Hour! We will be meeting at Four Bullets Brewery at 6:30, as usual! Sign up here for details! And remember, they have a great food truck with soft drinks, so come even if beer isn't your thing!

And put EARTH DAY on your calendar for April 22nd! We, along with the Student Government Association at Richland College, are joining with other area clubs to present a screening of Chasing the Tide. This is a beautiful documentary made by our friend Jay Kleberg and his wife Chrissy, who will be joining us to talk about their 370 mile trek along the entire coast of Texas. It will be April 22nd, 7:00-9:00 at the Richland Branch of Dallas College, Red River Hall. Space is limited so please Register to Join Us!

Don't miss your chance to get the RAD t-shirt for 2025! You can order yours for $30 or get a t-shirt and membership for $50. T-shirts will be available at our NEXT in-person meetings or can be shipped. Our t-shirt design is an homage to Jimmy Carter, who said, "We become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams."
