The Countdown is ON!
As the days start to cool, the HEAT is on!
Dear Fellow Democrat,
With only ____ days left till voting begins... Democrats across North Texas are scrambling to do all the things we must do to elect our candidates. From the party apparatus to the candidates' campaigns to the clubs like RAD, there is mobilization and coordination and collaboration that is unprecedented! The blessing of having Democrats running in every race across the state is also a challenge when it comes to resources to get them elected, whether that's donations or volunteers or even just time and energy. And that's where YOU come in...
This election cycle, it has to be more than the usual suspects who are pitching in. We've got excellent precinct chairs and volunteers that the candidates have counted on for years to power their get-out-the-vote efforts. The next few weeks are going to make or break our ability to win and it's going to take all hands on deck to get it done. We believe you care. We know you'll go vote. We trust you are spreading the word on Social Media and in your sphere of influence. But if you've never taken that next step and shown up for a lit drop or a block walk or a phone bank - this is the time to spread your wings.
OUR LOCAL CANDIDATES NEED YOUR HELP! It is truly impressive the work our local candidates are doing to win their elections. They are brilliant and creative and tenacious, which is so inspirational! You can help any of them by going to their websites at: Dan Barrios for CD32! Keenen Colbert for SD2! Representative Mihaela Plesa for HD70! Representative Ana-Maria Rodriquez-Ramos for HD102! Zach Herbert for HD112! Orlando Lopez for HD33! EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM needs and deserves your thanks, your support and your participation! Get in touch with their team and find out how you can help!
Zach Herbert will be meeting at One Eleven Ranch Park on Saturday at 10 a.m. and at 1:00 on Sunday at The Lazy Dog to launch Lit Drops (So Easy!! Get your steps in!) Tuesday at 6 p.m. they launch the North Dallas version of Lit Drop & Libations! AND Thursday night is Moms for Zach Block Walking - Join Them! This campaign has knocked on over 20,000 doors!! Get on the team and help push them over the finish line! You can also do phone banking with them! Contact their campaign!!
Dan Barrios Team will be at Panera Bread again Saturday at 9:30 (staying till after the protest below!) to launch his Richardson block walk! JOIN THEM!! They also have phone banking available on Mondays and Wednesdays!! Let's push Dan over the finish line!
Mihaela Plesa will be doing a Block Walk on October 3rd in northwest Richardson launching at 9:30 from Point North Park - we'll be talking with (my!) neighbors and want a great turnout! Join us!
Dan Barrios for Congressional District 32 (ALL OF RICHARDSON!) is participating in a Candidate Forum (AKA a DEBATE!) with his opponent on Wednesday, October 14th at the Richardson Chamber of Commerce! This is a Big Deal!! As many of us as possible need to show up and support Dan - let's fill the room with Democrats!! Registration includes lunch and the debate - REGISTER NOW!
We Need Lit Droppers! We have over 10,000 door hangers to distribute across the city of Richardson! This is our HUGE project to get the full slate in people's hands right before early voting starts on the 19th. We'll have TWO big Days of Action - the 10th and the 17th, with a week in between that you can do the work in between! WE NEED AN ARMY!! Please sign up and be a part of this enormous effort to Get Out The Vote!!
Check Your Voter Registration!! AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO DO THE SAME!! We've already been spreading this word since it was announced a month or so ago that 1.2 Million Texans were on the suspense list. This week news broke that somehow DPS has gotten a YEAR behind in sending voter registrations to the county election offices to be processed. Hundreds of thousands are being dumped on the counties with less than 2 weeks to process them. CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION. VOTE411.org Just do it... and do it again.
As usual, we continue to show up weekly, ROARing with our signs! We meet every Saturday morning from 10-11 on the southeast corner of Campbell & 75 to let our community know that there is a resistance in Richardson! Join Us!
~ See You Soon ~
